YOUR QUESTIONS

Selling your van: your questions answered

Straight answers about valuing your van, agreeing an offer and getting paid. A simpler way to sell, from start to finish.

Your valuation

How do I get a free van valuation?

Start with your registration. Confirm the vehicle details, add the mileage and condition, then enter your contact details to see an estimate where one is available. You can also call 0800 206 2332 to discuss your van.

How is my van’s value calculated?

Your registration identifies the vehicle. Its specification, age and mileage help inform the estimated trade value returned by our vehicle-data service. The team will review condition, history and any other relevant details before agreeing a final offer.

Is the online estimate a guaranteed offer?

No. The lowest-to-highest range is an estimate based on the details provided, without a full review of your vehicle. The final offer is subject to condition and inspection. An online estimate is not a purchase contract.

Does the estimate include VAT?

The estimate shown in this journey includes VAT. Tell us whether your van is VAT qualifying so we can confirm the VAT treatment and final amount payable before a sale is agreed.

Why do you need my phone number and email address?

Both help us discuss your vehicle, check the details and follow up on your valuation. We also ask for your postcode and why you are getting a valuation. Read our privacy policy to see how this information is used.

What if my registration is not recognised?

You can enter your vehicle details manually and continue for a personal assessment. If an automatic estimate is unavailable, call 0800 206 2332 or email hello@buyanyvans.co.uk. We can still discuss your vehicle.

Vans we buy

What vehicles do you buy?

We consider vans, pickups, commercial cars, minibuses and other commercial vehicles from private sellers, businesses, fleets and the motor trade. Tell us the make, model, age, mileage and condition so we can assess your vehicle.

Do you buy damaged vans and non-runners?

Yes, we consider damaged vans and non-runners. Select the relevant condition and tell us about any damage or faults. These vehicles need a personal assessment rather than an automatic valuation.

Can I sell an older or high-mileage van?

Yes. We consider older vans and high-mileage vehicles. An automatic estimate may not be available for every vehicle, but the team can discuss a manual quote.

Do you buy imported vans?

We consider imported vans. Tell us that your vehicle is an import and share its specification and registration details. A manual assessment may be needed because specifications and values can differ from UK-supplied models.

Payment, finance and collection

When will I get paid for my van?

Payment is arranged at collection once the final price has been agreed after inspection. We will confirm the payment method and timing with you before you hand over the van.

Are valuation and collection free?

Yes. There are no valuation fees, selling fees or collection charges. We will confirm the collection arrangements with you when discussing the offer.

Can I sell a van with outstanding finance?

We can arrange settlement with your finance company as part of an agreed sale. We need a current settlement figure and your authority to proceed. Any remaining balance is paid to you; if the finance exceeds the agreed price, we will discuss the shortfall before collection.

Where do you collect vans?

We cover all areas. Give us your postcode so we can confirm collection arrangements and availability for your location.

Do I need my V5C log book?

Our current buying process requires the original V5C log book. If yours is missing, contact us before arranging collection so we can discuss the documents needed. You can find replacement guidance on GOV.UK.

Business, fleet and trade

Do you buy fleet and trade vans?

Yes. We work with businesses, fleet operators, leasing companies and the motor trade. Whether you have one van or several, tell us what you want to sell and we will discuss valuation and collection.

Can I sell a leased van?

A leased van usually belongs to the leasing company. You need the owner’s permission and an agreed route to sell or purchase the vehicle. Contact us with the details before arranging a sale.

What happens next

What happens after I request a quote?

Your enquiry is recorded securely for our team to follow up. A reference appears after submission. Automatic confirmation emails are not yet enabled.

Can I request a valuation at the weekend?

Yes. We offer a friendly online service seven days a week, so you can enter your details when it suits you. The team will follow up to discuss your vehicle.

How do I update my details or ask a question?

Call 0800 206 2332 or email hello@buyanyvans.co.uk. Include your registration and, if you have one, your enquiry reference so the team can find the right enquiry.
